Lauren Elliott – MANAGING DIRECTOR / PRODUCER
Lauren Elliott is a producer and public relations professional who has worked in the creative industries in Australia, the UK and the US over the last 10 years. She is the producer of web series Small Town Hackers, DAFUQ?, The Shapes, Henry & Aaron’s 7 Steps to Superstardom, The Legend of Gavin Tanner and The Write Stuff with Noel & Carl Pennyman, as well as multiple digital shorts and commercials including viral sensations It’s A Snap! (3 million hits) and Set Yourself Free (20 million hits). Lauren recently spent six months in LA, learning the Hollywood ropes from Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and Tim & Eric’s Abso Lutely Productions. In 2015, she was the winner of the inaugural Screenwest Emerging Producer’s Initiative and was awarded $100,000 to put towards project and professional development. In 2016, Lauren produced her debut half hour TV pilot, The Legend of Gavin and the New Best Mate, which premiered on ABC1, attended AusFilm's exclusive 'Partner With Australia' Week in Los Angeles and was selected to participate in the Screen Producers Association (SPA) prestigious 'Ones to Watch' Program. Her debut documentary, DIGILANTE, was recently selected to make its international premiere at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2017. She is currently based in LA building industry relationships and pitching all things Mad Kids.
Henry Inglis – Writer / Director / EDITOR
Henry Inglis is a writer/director/editor who has been developing and producing comedy projects over the last 10 years. Together with Matt Lovkis, he has written and directed five web series Small Town Hackers, DAFUQ?, The Shapes, The Legend of Gavin Tanner, The Write Stuff with Noel & Carl Pennyman and Matt & Henry Working Together. He also co-created web series, Henry & Aaron’s 7 Steps to Superstardom and viral sensations It’s A Snap! (3 million views) and Set Yourself Free (20 million views). Henry’s viral hits have garnered him celebrity fans including Dan Harmon, the creator of NBC series, Community and Christopher McQuarrie, screenwriter of The Usual Suspects. Together with Matt Lovkis, Henry recently wrote and directed his debut half hour TV pilot, The Legend of Gavin and the New Best Mate and is currently developing a slate of new comedy projects for Australia and the US.
Matt Lovkis – Writer / Director
Matt Lovkis is a writer/director who has been developing and producing comedy projects over the last 10 years. Together with Henry Inglis, he has written and directed five web series Small Town Hackers, DAFUQ?, The Shapes, The Legend of Gavin Tanner, The Write Stuff with Noel & Carl Pennyman and Matt & Henry Working Together. Matt was a member of improv group The Big Hoo-Haa and presenter of Late Nights with Dani and Matt on 92.9FM. He has written musical numbers for awards shows, TV series and web series, and in 2012 released the comedic big-band album Matt Lovkis Doing It Live with the Ash Gibson Greig Orchestra. Matt was the Series Writer for Big Brother from 2012 to 2014 and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here from 2015 to 2017. Together with Henry Inglis, Matt recently wrote and directed his debut half hour TV pilot, The Legend of Gavin and the New Best Mate. He is currently developing a slate of new comedy projects for Australia and the US, as well as writing on a bunch of reality television series.
ANTHEA SMYTH - ASSISTANT PRODUCER
Anthea is the Rachel to Lauren's Quinn. She is an Assistant Producer with a strong background in reality and factual television, having worked on over 20 documentary series including the internationally successful Who Do You Think You Are? and reality formats including The Biggest Loser, Australian Idol and The Amazing Race. Anthea recently spent time in Melbourne learning the development ropes at Matchbox Pictures and she was also the Assistant Producer for Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia. Anthea's first project with Mad Kids was producing a series of 'Through the Windows' short films for Play School, as the iconic Australian touchstone celebrated its 50th birthday in 2016. She is currently working across a diverse slate of scripted and factual TV projects for both Mad Kids and WA documentary house, Prospero.
JOEL GRAY - WRITER
Joel Gray is an aspiring filmmaker with a passion for comedy. Since joining Mad Kids as an intern in 2015, Joel has secured two screenwriting credits for Small Town Hackers and Aussie Rangers which premiered online in 2017. He also appeared as 'Joel the Intern' in our satirical mockumentary series, DAFUQ? Joel has completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters of Engineering at the University of Western Australia, and he is currently developing a slate of new comedy projects for Australia and the US.
CLARE TOONEN - PRODUCER'S ASSISTANT
Clare Toonen is an aspiring screenwriter and lifelong film buff who recently graduated from the WA Screen Academy with a Master of Screen Studies. She assists Mad Kids across its entire slate of projects, from script research and writing rooms right through to post-production and delivery. In 2017, Clare wrote a short comedy, You, Me & Karen, for which she won the Screen Academy’s Channel 9 Award for Excellence in Scriptwriting. She also wrote Rift, a drama for the Aboriginal Theatre students at WAAPA, which collected the Screen Academy’s Channel 9 Award for Best Client-Based Film. She also currently has a number of stories buzzing around in her head, suited to both the short film and web series format.
