Lauren Elliott – MANAGING DIRECTOR / PRODUCER
Lauren Elliott is one of Western Australia's most groundbreaking comedy producers. As Managing Director and Producer at Mad Kids, she has produced Small Town Hackers for Saturday Night Live's digital platform (Above Average), DAFUQ? for ABC iview, The Shapes for ABCME, The Legend of Gavin Tanner for ABC1, The Write Stuff for ABC2 and Henry & Aaron's 7 Steps to Superstardom for Foxtel. She has worked in marketing, public relations and events across Australia, the UK and the US. She spent six months learning the Hollywood ropes at Red Hour Films and Abso Lutely Productions in Los Angeles.
Lauren was the winner of the inaugural Screenwest Emerging Producer’s Initiative in 2015 and was awarded $100,000 to put towards project and professional development. Since then, she has attended AusFilm's exclusive 'Partner With Australia' Week in Los Angeles, was selected for SPA’s prestigious 'Ones to Watch' Program and her debut documentary, DIGILANTE, made its international premiere at Hot Docs International Documentary Festival. In 2018, Lauren has launched commercial division, Ad Kids, was the Associate Producer on ABC series Sando for Jungle Entertainment and produced two new web series, LIFT and The Big Spaghetti.
Henry Inglis – Writer / Director / EDITOR
Henry is one of Western Australia’s most prolific comedy filmmakers. He has written, produced, directed, edited and starred in multiple web series including Small Town Hackers, DAFUQ?, The Shapes, The Legend of Gavin Tanner, The Write Stuff with Noel & Carl Pennyman, Matt & Henry Working Together and Henry & Aaron’s 7 Steps to Superstardom as well as viral sensations It’s A Snap! (3 million views) and Set Yourself Free (20 million views). Henry’s viral hits have garnered him celebrity fans including Dan Harmon (Rick & Morty) and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects). In 2018, Henry has been awarded the ADG Award for Best Direction of an Online Comedy Project for Small Town Hackers. He is currently directing a number of television commercials as well as developing a slate of new comedy projects for Australia and the US.
Matt Lovkis – Writer / Director
Matt is a founding member of Mad Kids and has written, directed and starred in multiple web series including Small Town Hackers, DAFUQ?, The Shapes, The Legend of Gavin Tanner, The Write Stuff with Noel & Carl Pennyman and Matt & Henry Working Together. Matt was a member of improv group The Big Hoo-Haa and presenter of Late Nights with Dani and Matt on 92.9FM. He has written musical numbers for awards shows, TV series and web series, and in 2012 released the comedic big-band album Matt Lovkis Doing It Live with the Ash Gibson Greig Orchestra. Matt was the Series Writer for Big Brother from 2012 to 2014 and in 2016, his iconic creation, The Legend of Gavin Tanner, was selected to be part of ABC's inaugural pilot season, ABC Comedy Showroom. Matt is currently writing on a bunch of reality TV series, including the 2018 seasons of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! and Love Island Australia, as well as developing a slate of new comedy projects for Australia and the US.
ANTHEA SMYTH - ASSISTANT PRODUCER
Anthea is the Rachel to Lauren's Quinn. She is a Producer with a strong background in reality and factual television, having worked on over 20 documentary series, including the internationally successful Who Do You Think You Are? and reality formats including The Biggest Loser, Australian Idol, The Bachelorette, Married At First Sight, House Rules and The Amazing Race. In 2016, Anthea spent time in Melbourne learning the development ropes at Matchbox Pictures and she was also the Assistant Producer for Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia. Anthea's first project with Mad Kids was producing a series of 'Through the Windows' short films for Play School, as the iconic Australian touchstone celebrated its 50th birthday. She is currently the Series Producer for the 2018 season of Gogglebox on Channel Ten.
JOEL GRAY - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Joel ensures the smooth running of development, production, post-production, distribution, marketing and publicity across Mad Kids entire slate of projects. When he's not smashing out timelines and meeting production deadlines, he is often involved in our writing rooms and since joining Mad Kids, has secured two screenwriting credits on two web series, Small Town Hackers and Aussie Rangers. In addition to his filmmaking expertise, Joel has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters of Engineering from the University of Western Australia.
CLARE TOONEN - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Clare ensures the smooth running of development, production, post-production, distribution, marketing and publicity across Mad Kids entire slate of projects. In addition to being a gun Production Coordinator, Clare is an emerging screenwriter and lifelong film buff. In 2017, she completed a Master of Screen Studies at the WA Screen Academy, and her graduation short film, You, Me and Karen won the Channel 9 Award for Excellence in Scriptwriting. In 2018, Clare was awarded $10,000 Generate short film production funding from Screenwest for her script, Brothers which is set for release in 2019.
